Day 1: We’ve come a long way

It didn’t always go as smoothly as it seems to in this photo. The first summer when Randy and I started dating, three years ago, there were some rough patches. Katie wasn’t accustomed to sharing me with anyone, and there were some turf battles. But over time, things have smoothed out. Now, she goes to Randy for help with her math homework, not me. He is very good at dealing with both of us, always accommodating and smoothing out our rough edges. I’m glad the two most important people in my life are getting along better than they did in the beginning.
