I’m reading “The Giver” by Lois Lowry. I’m not very far into it yet – I just started yesterday. But I’m intrigued so far by the nightly ritual of sharing feelings.
On one hand, it seems very controlling, making each individual share something so private with others in the community. Their most vulnerable moments can’t even be kept to themselves.
On the other hand, there is something therapeutic, cathartic about releasing fears, anxieties, worries.
Even if you don’t HAVE to share your feelings to an audience, it can be good to get it out, work through it, if not verbally maybe in your mind or on paper.
I think this is going to be an interesting book.
